Welcome to Ryan’s Leadership Lessons!
Greetings!
I'm Ryan Stemen, and I've been working in the tax, accounting, and finance world for years. Often tackling high-stakes projects, performing under tight deadlines and leading corporate tax teams in both public and private companies. Beyond the numbers, I've served on two nonprofit boards and various leadership roles in social clubs. I'm all about passing on the leadership wisdom I've picked up along the way. That's why I've kicked off a leadership lessons newsletter—to not only dish out my own insights but also to inspire other leaders to share their own stories.
How the newsletter is designed:
Starting in January 2023 I kicked off “Ryan’s Sunday Night Leadership Lessons” and the first batch of posts can be found on my personal blog. My goal at the time of publishing them was simple; create posts about various career, educational, personal experiences, and translate them into bite size leadership lessons for you to learn from in a few minutes on a Sunday night. You can find all the Sunday Night Leadership Lessons posts on my personal website.
Over time, I rebranded the name to simply be called Ryan’s Leadership Lessons, kicked off a companion podcast with the same name, and moved into a newsletter format to LinkedIn Newsletter. Now, I’ve decided to expand my reach even further here on Substack since it has a larger network of writers, thinkers, and creators.
My goal with the newsletter:
Right now every post you see is free. I don’t have a paid vs unpaid model. I don’t have some big media budget. I don’t have any fancy ghost writers or editors behind the scenes. Rather what you see, is what you get. My goal is to simply give out my leadership thoughts for free and not put them behind a paywall.
